Yesterday our grade 6 class took a vow of silence. A vow of silence is where we don't talk for a full 24 hours to raise money/awareness for people who have no voice to speak up for what they want or believe. I think it was very hard to stay silent for a whole 24 hours. Sometimes some people talked and didn't even realize they were. I kind of felt really bad for everyone who had no voice, such as children in child labour, and young girls forced to get married and have kids, etc. Some younger kids tried to trick us into talking by annoying us and/or teasing us then they would they would go write a tally up on a board that we had for anyone who heard a grade 6 talking. I thought it was good to try something like that, it opened up my eyes to child labour and other thing like that.
