A bit ago, we played a game called Darfur is dying where we learned about refugee camps. the game is where you play as a character who needs to get water to grow crops to feed Darfur. when you go to get water you need to hide from cars with men in it. if you get captured then your character dies and you need to select another character. the game teaches you a lot about what it's really like around the world.

Recently in our class, we played an online game called "Darfur is Dying" to learn about refugee camps.

Darfur is a camp in Sudan that really exists.

In the game you have to choose a character to be first. The first task is running from your camp to a fresh water well to get water for your camp. The kids run faster and some can run away from the Janjaweed soldiers that would capture you if they caught up to you. The parents can carry more water than the kids can but do not run as fast.

The idea of the game is to keep your camp alive and well. So you have to keep up your water supply by running to the well again. You bring some water to the fields to grow food and you give resources to the medical place to get medicine.

You can walk around and click on the question marks to learn more about Darfur.

It was fun and sad and I definitely recommend it!

Last week in our class, we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. We had to forge for water and keep a camp healthy for 7 days. When I was forged the water you have to go to a well outside the village but you would to hide from the Janjaweed soldiers. otherwise they will capture you and you will lose that person you picked. I think this game is fun but kind of scary because it's real.

Recently in class, we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. It is where you pick a child or the mother to get water for there camp. On the way to the well you have to dodge Janjaweed soldiers who have huge guns. If they see you you ether get ran over or captured and  taken  away.
It's really sad that they have to go get water from a well that is really far away from their camp while being in a life or death experience if they do get water and get to your camp on the game you water the fields or give the water to someone. They are buildings in your camp  and if you click on one of the buildings it will tell you a really sad story.
I realized how grateful I need to be just for the simplest things like safety, water, and the country I live in.

last week in our classroom we played a game on the net books called Darfur is dying to learn about how hard it is to be there and what they have to go through just to live and so I realized that I live an easy life compared to them and I also learned that no one helps them they just leave them be.

Recently in our class, we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. The game makes me sad and scared. It is so hard to beileve that children my age and younger have to live a life that way. I also wonder why so many people have to be so evil and mean! The game made me think more indepth of how bad people can be, and that the people being attacked can't do much about it, because they will be killed or captured and bad stuff happen to them, just because they tried to help. Meanwhile we have nice water in our toilets and fancy clothes made from them and they have people attacking them, not much fresh water unless you go out and get it at a high risk of being killed! Be thankful for what you have!!

In our class we have been playing a game called Darfur is dying to learn about refugee camps.
In this game you have to use a the Characters the the game gives you. In the game you have to Forge for water and take care of your camp and if you get caught by the soldiers you have to back to the main menu and choose another character. What this game teaches me is that in this place you have to work to live but in Canada you don't need to do that so in Darfur you need to stay away for soldiers.
and in the Game you could get bought as a slave or killed by soldiers if your a women you could die or get rapped but not in the game that's all i learned for Darfur is dying.

Recently in our religion class, we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. It is a sad game that teaches us about what happens in places like Darfur. Darfur is a very small place in Sudan that has lots of poverty and child labor. In the game you forage for water and try to keep your village for water. Every time that you forage for water you are in risk of being caught by the Janjaweed soldiers and killed or if you are a women you could even be raped (but not in the game). You have to grow food and get medical supplies for your little town. The objective of the game is to keep your village alive for at least 7 days!

Recently in our religion class, we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about Refugee camps. It is a sad game, but it shows the danger that the people have to go through. Going to forage for water alone is very dangerous, and the children risk being caught, the women were usually raped. The grown men don't even dare to forage for water, with risk of being caught or killed. Darfur is an area in Sudan, and the janjaweed solders are the ones that terrorize the people of Darfur. It is would be very hard to live in Darfur, risking your life for a bucket of water to nourish your family. I find it very sad that the children have to go through that.

It is a really hard game but also really fun to play but you have to run go to get water  for their village. And while you're playing the game there are army guys who come and capture you and also
get beat to death. There is  a very small  amount of people to play in the game. You also have to hide from the army guys.

Recently in our class,we played a game called darfur is dying to learn more about refuge camps. It was a sad game to learn that stuff like slavery goes on over the world. Mostly that they had to go tons of miles to get water and try to avoid getting caught. When you went to the camp you had a meter for an attack to come and kill them. When in the village it gives you facts about what it is actually like to live there.

Recently in our class, we played Darfur is dying to learn about refugee camps. It was sad to see what happened. So many people were killed. it scary to know that any time all of that could come into Canada or any country.

Darfur Brae

Recently in our class, we have started playing this game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. In this game you start picking a kid or adult and what you need to do. Is run in the desert and try to get water for your group. Then with water you can get food to feed your people. But sometimes when you are running for the water there are these people in trucks called Janjaweed soldiers who would capture you then that person was unplayable. To avoid Janjaweed soldiers you need to hide behind bushes shrubs and rocks then they will drive right passed you.

Last week in our class we played a game called Darfur is Dying which is about refugee camps. In Darfur is Dying you have to forage for water, grow crops and keep your camp healthy to survive for seven days. Recently in our class we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. This game is fun, but is sad at the same time. All of this is happening in real life. And this is sad, because these people have to hide, just to get water to keep there village alive. All those brave people who do this, who could die by doing it, are amazing people. Imagine living like these people, I feel so bad for the people living like this, I wish I could help the people that live like this.

Darfur Mats

Recently in our class, we played a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. The game showed me how the life in refugee camps are. It's fun but a really sad game the point of the game is you choose a character and you have to forage water. But you have to watch out for soldiers in trucks. If you fail to get water and you get captured and killed its really sad. It showed me the horrible life they have to face and how kids have to risk the life to help the others and survive. Darfur is a place in Sudan where lots of people have to survive against the Janjaweed soldiers.

In our class, we have been playing a game called Darfur is Dying to learn about refugee camps. This game teaches us about how children and women, men are forced to be slaves work for the rich. Many children are forced to get water for a little water pump that is very far away without getting caught   by the janjaweed soldiers in this game. In this game there are people ranging from the ages of 8-32.  (children and adults)

Recently in our class, we played a game called Darfur is dying to learn about refugee camps. I thought the stories told under the question marks on the home base map was incredible. Stories of girls that are 11 years old being tortured for not weaving fast enough. I feel sick thinking that some people went in and burnt a man so badly he cant move his arms at all.

Darfur Izzy

Recently in class we played a game called Darfur is dying to learn about refugee camps. The goal of the game is to keep your camp alive for seven days. You get to choose a character and you have to run to get water while avoiding the militia. After you get water you can bring it back to grow food, bring it to the medical center, and other things. As you go through the game it teaches you about cruel things that are happening in places like Darfur. The game is fun, but it teaches you about what things are like in other places that are being ravaged by war. When you realize that these things are happening it makes you grateful for what you have, It makes you thankful that you don't have to experience these things.
