voting rights santana

Right know in Canada everyone can vote if they have lived in the area for 6 months in the area you are  voting in and you have to be at least 18. Right now it does not matter if you are part of the first nations or you have a different skin color or if you’re a women because everyone is equally important. But voting was not always like this in Canada, until 1970 the voting age was 21. Also women were not allowed  to vote but the 1918 they finely could unless they were first nation or something. Did you know that first nations could not vote till 1960. You may think that was a long time ago but what if you were someone that lived then and you could not vote because you are a girl or fist nation how would that make you feel? This is still happening in other places but it cannot happen  in Canada for now because it is against the  charter of rights and freedoms, because every one is equal and all deserve to vote. It does not matter if you are from a different contrey as long as you have been in that place that you are voting in for 6 muonths and are 18 or older you can vote.voting is in the democratic rights.
